Suburban Decline

I just moved to the area, but I live in a properly suburban like place, with lots of windy roads that go to nowhere and mysterious cul-de-sacs and whatnot. Here's a few pics of the area... though I really need to get out and do more exploramenting. Taken with a Canon Powershot S30.

An as yet undeveloped strip:

Poor lonely bike.

Keep "exploramenting" and keep submitting great pics!

I really like the first photo. Is that your bike or did you just find it there?

Thank you! ...yah, it is my bike. I was out riding, parked, and it fit into the shot, so.

Well, the area certainly has character. It's a huge change from where I'm origninally from (seattle) -- the streets are laid out on a grid and nice and easy to understand. Crazy, that! :p

What I hate about the Phoenix area in general is (unless you've lived there for a good while) that you can travel from one `burb to the next and not even realize it...and I'm so map illiterate anyway that I get all lost. I could be in Tempe on minute and drive right into Scottsdale or Mesa and not even know it....*grumbles* Then again I'm sure there are far worse places with more confusion...

Heh. I understand what you mean. Seattle had districts -- capitol hill, central, queen anne, etc, and some of them would overlap or be within one another -- So I tend to ignore the overarcing name designations and just follow street directions.

Give me "left, right, turn here, go this far" yadda yadda and I can do very well! Written directions are the best!
